Down on the farm!

Normally I formulate a card design in my head, sometimes I'll sketch it out but I never design as I work and usually complete a card in one sitting (last night the juices were flowing and I stayed up until 2am!).

This week was the exception, I knew I wanted to use the Harvest Blessings set, in particular the image of the tractor on my Dad's Fathers Day card - as he has a small farm.

So I started by stamping it out... then thought I would make it into a pop up card... and that was the end of day one.

Throughout the week I added bits and pieces. Turning the card into a barn - I just love the little mouse from Life In The Forest peeking out from the grain sack made from a short piece of Burlap Ribbon tied with some Linen Thread.

The barn doors and walls are of course made from the Hardwood stamp, with Candy Dot door handles.

Once I had mounted the tractor and finished the front of the card, I felt the inside needed a bit more attention. In a flash of inspiration I thought how fabulous the Word Bubbles framelits would be as tractor smoke - and the sentiment from the corresponding Just Sayin' stamp was just perfect.

Finally I thought I would use the Banner punch from Saleabration to decorate the bottom - If you missed it during SAB - don't despair. It will be back in the main catalogue later in the year.

That Sketch Alphabet is such a useful size!

I can't wait to give it to him now! I'm sure he'll love it. I just need to make sure I don't put it in one of "those" safe places you can never remember. Hope you've had a good weekend!

Less is More - Dynamic Duo double challenge entry

Hey baby! The theme at Less is More this week is a baby card - and I have two lovely friends due in February and both are having girls, so when I saw the Dynamic Duo this week was Pink Pirouette and Pool Party, I thought it was about time I got on with those cards!

The first is one where I have utilised my alphabet sets - a rare occurrence - it is the Sketched Alphabet, framed by the Outline Alphabet. Punched out with the 3/4" circle. The Pool Party scallop was punched with the 7/8" scallop punch. The little banners were so quick and easy with my new Banner Framelits, available to order from the 28th of January. The ribbon is the Chevron ribbon from the annual catalogue and the flowers are from the new Petite Petals set - punched out with the coordinating punch.

This second card is another stunner... I have layered two tags made with the new Tag Top punch - the spots and stripes are from the new Perfect Pennants stamp set.

I used Pool Party embossing powder for the sentiment, this was from Label Love and punched out with the coordinating punch.

I hope you have enjoyed my posts this week and I hope you'll come back for more soon!

Last of the love - for this week!

Today I'm posting the last four (yup one extra today!) of the Valentines cards I have been creating.

The last one is completely different as I experimented a bit with colour - so I hope you like it.

The first one uses 2 Sale-a-Bration items - the Punch and Banner Blast stamp set. - If you want the Expressions Thinlits - the set is only available until the 28th of January - so you had better order it now!

I've used the Banner Blast stamp set and punch again here - teamed up with Gorgeous Grunge, the Flowerful Heart and the Sketch Alphabet set. Isn't the button sweet? that is one of the Very Vintage designer buttons.

I've used the Thinlits again here with the Language of Love stamp set - and the heart fits perfectly in our Heart Punch.

Last of all I took a punt with the colour - and opted to pick out the Coastal Cabana from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack to make this card, The sentiment was heat embossed on the vellum card stock and then I embossed it using the Adorning Accents embossing folder. The hearts were cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits. What do you think?

Well I'll be back tomorrow with a little something else. Hope you'll join me! Remember you only have a week to get your order in for those thinlits - they are a set of 3 - Love/Thankful and Merry.

You can book one of my classes, host a party and all your guests can experience the fun of making a card - or you can just get in touch to place an order! I have had enquiries about my Stampers 6 - and only need another 3 people to make up another set of 6 if you are interested - see the Stampers 6 tab for info.

Back tomorrow!

Scrap Booking

When we had our crafting session at quarterly training we tried something new... Michelle gave us a kit and we had 45 minutes to create something, then everyone shared their creations.

Traci Cornelius - fellow Pinkie created a lovely Scrap Book page and I loved it so much I decided to do my own little version with a couple of the photo's I took in Italy. I thought it would be a nice momento for my Aunt and Uncle when they get back from Italy in November.

The base is 12x12 Coastal Cabana, the flowers are all from the new Flower Shop set and inked in Wisteria Wonder, the gorgeous peachy colour is Crisp Canteloupe. Do you see the ruffled ribbon? Well it is the new Ruffle Stretch Trim and I am in love with it!

The corners are the new Chevron Ribbon in Wisteria Wonder and the letters are stamped using the new Sketch Alphabet, punched out with the Petite Curly Label punch.

You'll notice the flowers on the bottom left look a little different... well they were stamped on vellum - I love vellum!

The scallops were cut using Large Scallop Edgelit - made SO much easier with the new Magnetic Plate for the Big Shot. I then used one of the Delicate Designs embossing folders.

Two of the flowers have large pearls in the centre.

What do you all think? I'm dead chuffed and really enjoyed making it!
