Challenge #2 Paper Players

Good Morning!

Challenge #2 is actually motivating myself to get the housework done today so I have the whole weekend to help with the studio! It's coming along nicely - in spite of serious setbacks... like the fact the cowboy who started (and never came back to finish) the build left us with a roof not strong enough so we've had to reinforce it! So we had to wait for a steel to be manufactured.

But we've had news the windows and doors will arrive next week so we're looking in track for September! Whoo hoo!!!

Today's challenge is from the Paper Players using this sketch.

This is my take on the sketch and I think I have met the 'brief'.

I used a host of elements from some die sets including the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Wonderful Wreath Framelits and Lots of Labels Framelits, I also used the Decorative Dots embossing folder and Bird Builder and Petite Petals punches.

The sentiment is from the One Big Meaning set and the ribbon, woven through the holes is 1/4" cotton ribbon.

It's completely different to yesterday's CAS design. What do you think?

Off to start the cleaning now! xxxx

Challenging times

Well I can't understand where the last week has gone! Am I the only one who takes time off work only to discover it's time to go back again and I've done nothing?

My crafty mojo went on holiday without as much as a By Your Leave! So rude.

Tomorrow is the last day to book a class for August, so don't miss out! If you haven't been before I don't bite (unless it's chocolate or cake), it would be lovely to see some new faces and the progress on the studio is tremendous so I would love to show you!

In search of my mojo I decided to try something I've not done for a long time and visit some challenge sites. Today is a card I created for the Less is More challenge of "Snippets". I wasn't entirely sure what they were looking for, so I just stuck to the general ethos of 'Less is More'.

Real Red and Bermuda Bay are a stunning combination and I combined Gorgeous Grunge with the Tin of Cards stamp set, punched the flower using the Itty Bitty Accent flower and die cut the butterfly with the Bold Butterfly framelits.

Notice anything unusual about the Butterfly (and the flower)? Well there's more to come soon!

I'll be back tomorrow with another challenge so pop back and see what I'll have for you then.

August Classes

I hope your week is going well! I've taken a few afternoons off work as we were supposed to be going to Wales but we need to get on with the studio and wouldn't have been able to relax if we were away.

I have had lots of accessories for the studio delivered and cannot wait to start dressing the room - I have dates for delivery of the furniture, the tables will arrive next week and the chairs the first week of September. I'm so excited!

Here are a couple of the projects for the August class and the last date to book is the 31st July, we are using the Garden In Bloom stamp set and matching English Garden DSP.

Inside is a lovely fancy fold using the DSP - Such a clever little card and so cute

Another of the cards is this - it's a completely different fancy fold with partial cuts.

I hope you'll join me for a class - just £11 per person in Princes Risborough - message me on Facebook, email mailme@paulaknall.co.uk or call 07786 860438. Lots of dates available!

Studio Update...

Well I had a lovely weekend away in the caravan last weekend - can't believe it's been a week already!

I did get the chance... in between the hilarity (We were playing games, drinking, dancing and it was fabulous!) to do a little crafting - well why wouldn't you? And I CASEd a card from the catalogue.

Sometimes you see so many lovely projects with a stamp set, that really get your creative juices going and I ended up with another 6 stamp sets last week! Ooops!

So here is the one I CASEd and I'm IN LOVE with the paper stack!

Isn't it super cute? The stamp set is Garden in Bloom and the DSP is English Garden.

On to the Studio... we had some significant delays with the contractor and so progress has been slow - in fact hubby was finishing the base earlier this week!

Now the base is finished and the roof is all prepped under the tarpaulin.

The back panels are here - and the rest should arrive in the morning...

In the meantime I have been shopping on-line and my loft is full of boxes of exciting and pretty things for the Studio... Can't wait!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Just thought I would share the birthday card I made for my Dad... It's another of my pull out cards.

I thought the train from the Traveler stamp set would look so cool coming out of a tunnel! What do you think?

I used the sentiments from Guy Greetings and the Decorative Dots embossing folder.

I think the train looks so awesome heat embossed.

Good news - after some sticky patches with the contractor messing us around the studio is now under way. So tonight I ordered all the accessories. Eeek! So exciting...

Tables and chairs are ordered too! And everything is purple, hot pink and lime green, I  think it will all look amazing against the predominantly white room. I promise there will be pictures soon! Maybe Thursday as I have a class tomorrow!

I also worked on some more samples at the weekend... some of which WILL end up in next months classes because they are gorgeous!

TTFN - I'm off to bed now!

Convention... Nope On Stage Live!

Can't believe it's nearly time to book On Stage Live! I'm so excited it's the first year of the replacement event instead of Convention! I actually booked my flights and hotel LAST year!

Digging through some old photo's I found pictures of one of the projects we made last year with one of our free stamp sets.

Thought I would share it!

I'm off away in the caravan tomorrow for the weekend and have a class Monday so hope to post Tuesday... but with another class Wednesday... who knows!

Have a great weekend!

It's all about the boys...

Hope you had a good weekend, I'm doing month end processing for my day job... so I'm working 10 hour days then Stampin' Up! at home. But Stampin' Up! 'stuff' doesn't feel like work - I love it so much.

I needed a card suitable for a youngster, my nephews' 14th (Oh goodness when did he go and grow up?!) birthday.

It's always a tough one but Gorgeous Grunge to the rescue again!

It's just so versatile! I loved using all the browns and what a great use of the Hello You Thinlits.

I have a 'thing' about the Linen Thread too...

Now I have to place another order tonight as I earned some freebies from Stampin' Up! If you want the chance to earn free product and get a discount on your purchases then get in touch with me.

If you would like to 'tag on' to my order and are local enough to collect - You need to let me know by 9pm... you have 2 hours!

Back soon!
