Back To Basics

Today is the first of my Back To Basics posts.

As a new crafter I was completely bemused by everything and it would have been so much easier to have some simple instructions to get me started.

So I have created a few short videos, these may even be of use for you to send to potential customers or friends who need some simple instructions to help them master the basics and gain confidence.

So - to start with Stamping itself. The very root of our hobby...

Here are a couple of cards I made using the stamp set from the video - Zoo Babies

I'm really excited about the new catalogue as I hope there will be some new sentiments to compliment this set!

I find making cards for children probably harder than for men! Can you believe that?

Did you spot there are a couple of this years Sale-a-bration stamp sets here? Some very lucky recruits will receive one of these sets in their welcome pack if they join my team with yesterdays offer!

The alignment of these images will also be covered on a later Back to Basics video.

Baby Girls

Can you believe we are nearly half way through the weekend! AND I haven't posted since Wednesday - though to be fair this cold has been getting progressively worse and this morning, having run a class last night and chattered incessantly, as I have a habit of doing, I had completely lost my voice this morning.

Hubby was really pleased and I'm sure my work colleagues would have appreciated a day of peace!

Everyone seems to be having baby girls at the moment! It must have been something in the air back in June and July last year!

It has meant I have been making pink cards like they are going out of fashion, and this is one I made using Zoo Babies, I just love these stamps and look how crisp that elephant is!

I also used my Decorative Dots embossing folder I got during Saleabration, the Deco Labels Collection framelits, the Word Window and Modern Label punches and added some fluffiness with the Organza ribbon.

Well it was just a quick one between chores so I'm off to get ready as hubby is playing drums for a local band, filling in for their usual drummer. I'm off to watch - he'll be surprised as I don't usually go to his gigs.

Double Challenge Entry

I can't believe it's been 4 days since my last post! Where on earth has the time gone?

On reflection I have been super busy, I bought a caravan so have had a towing lesson as I've not towed for years and wanted some practice. Went to pick up the caravan, sorted dog cages and a tow bar for my car, a close friend has had a baby so I drove over and visited her, I've been sorting out everything I will need for my Wreath Class and ordering all the materials, then last night we went and had dinner with hubby's business partner and his wife.

Today I am stopping for breath!

Somewhere in there I managed to make a card for two challenges this week. CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge, it was a colour challenge this week. and the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week.

Sometimes it's really hard to think of something for these challenges but I really needed some 'structure' to get my creative juices going, as you can imagine with everything going on my creative mojo took a hike!

I used the Zoo Babies stamp set, Bring on the Cake birthday sentiment set, the Scallop Dotted Ribbon border punch and the Label Bracket punch.

I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder in the word Birthday and Dazzling Diamonds on the strip of ribbon. Want to know how I got that straight line? I used a thin strip of double sided tape and then sprinkled on the Dazzling Diamonds. Neat trick isn't it?

So I have quite a few bits to share over the next few days. Particularly as things have hopefully settled down for a while.
